A Journey of Emotions Around the World: From Rio to Scotland, via the North and the Islands
At 13, during a summer camp organised by my village, Norway was my first encounter with foreign lands. This experience sparked a flame of curiosity in me, a flame that has never gone out. Since then, my journey has taken me far beyond the beaten path. I’ve vibrated to the rhythm of Rio de Janeiro, felt the pulse of New York on a quick stopover, and marveled at the majesty of Angkor Wat’s temples. I’ve explored the rice fields of Bali, the wild landscapes of Australia and New Zealand, and immersed myself in the vibrant cultures of Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, and Japan.
I also lived 12 years in Ireland, an experience that profoundly shaped my vision of travel. I wandered the streets of Prague, roamed the Scottish moors, walked the dunes of the United Arab Emirates, and trekked the volcanic paths of Reunion Island. I discovered the gentle lifestyle of Copenhagen, the grandeur of Norwegian fjords, the charm of Malmö, and the paradisiacal beauty of Mauritius. Every destination has been a unique adventure, an endless source of inspiration.
My early travels in France, long before my big adventures abroad, were just as enriching. I explored the châteaux of the Loire Valley, witnesses of royal history, and marveled at the beauty of Provence’s landscapes, with their lavender fields and perched villages. I also hiked some alpine trails, breathing in the pure mountain air.
Discovering the Flavors of the World: A Culinary Passion
For me, travel isn’t complete without diving into local gastronomy. I learned to cook bulgogi in South Korea, to craft traditional sushi in Japan, and to savor rougail saucisse in Reunion Island. I explored colorful markets, took cooking classes, and tasted typical dishes in every country I visited. Not to forget the delicious Breton crêpes in France, Polish pierogi in Wrocław, and Swiss fondue in Geneva!
